The City of Baker City announces that it is seeking volunteers for the following boards:
Baker City Tree Board: (one partial term)
The Tree Board has the duty to maintain a written plan for care/maintenance of trees/shrubs in parks, along streets, and in public areas; to consider and make recommendations on any special matter/question within the scope of their work as requested by the City Council; and to issue/deny, after hearing, tree permit variances. The Board may also order the removal/remedial treatment of unsafe, dead, diseased or potentially injurious trees on public or private property. Three year term ends July 2014.
Anyone interested in volunteering for appointment to the above board may contact Becky Fitzpatrick at City Hall, 524-2033 or bfitzpatrick@bakercity.com, prior to September 8, 2011. The City Council will make the appointment from the list of volunteers and nominees at the September 13, 2011 council meeting. The volunteer application form is also available on the City's web site, www.bakercity.com.
