Constructing a sidewalk or driveway approach?
Constructing a sidewalk or driveway approach? Here are some things you should know:
- 2012 Sidewalk Replacement Grant Program Coming Soon! Have an existing sidewalk that could use some work? Apply for a sidewalk replacement grant. The grant cycle begins Monday, May 1, 2012 and ends Thursday, May 31, 2012. Take a look at the 2012 grant application for more information on how the grant works! Questions? Call Jennifer Murphy at (541) 524-2063.
- Sidewalk Width Requirements. When constructing a sidewalk within a residential zone, it must be constructed to be at least 5' wide. Sidewalks within the commercial zone must have a minimum width of 6'. Sidewalks within the Historic District in the downtown area are required to be scored with two-foot squares starting at the curb line. Click here for the Historic District Map. If you're in a commercial district, please contact City Planner Jenny Long (541) 524-2028 to discuss sidewalk width requirements for your specific property. For more information on the two-foot square construction or any sidewalk construction in general, please contact Construction Supervisor Larry McBroom at (541) 524-2019.
