The Human Resources Department is dedicated to the recruitment of diverse and talented candidates looking for career opportunities with the City of Baker City. HR works directly with all City departments providing guidance and support through hiring, performance management, professional development, training, classification, compensation, contract administration, collective bargaining, benefits administration (including health promotion) and compliance with state and federal regulations. Additionally, HR assists with risk management as part of the Administration Department wherein staff assists with health and safety, workers’ compensation and ADA accommodation. Employment Opportunities

City Engineer/Project Manager. Full-time. Salary range: $5,416-$6,667/month DOE plus excellent benefits. Applications will be accepted until filled.

Performs administrative, supervisory, and professional engineering work necessary to manage the engineering, construction inspection, and survey of the Public Works Department and to fulfill the statutory obligations of the City Engineer/Project Manager's position. Provides first line supervision to two Public Works Department employees within the Technical Services and Facility Maintenance division (one employee), including assigning and reviewing work; planning, design and inspection of Public Works projects as assigned by the Public Works Director; preparation of project cost estimates and schedules; bidding of projects.  

Minimum Qualifications: 
Bachelor‘s degree in Civil Engineering, are preferred to be licensed as PE in in the State of Oregon, or must have at a minimum, PE license from another state with the ability to secure an Oregon PE within six months of employment.  
Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Oregon or Professional Engineer from another state with ability to secure Oregon PE. 

Preferred Education and Experience:
Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) designation desired.
